The key steps
- Clear the room and protect floors and furniture
- Fill holes and cracks, then sand smooth
- Wash greasy or dirty areas and let them dry
- Use masking tape for clean edges
- Apply primer or a mist coat on new plaster and stains
- Apply two coats, letting each dry fully
