A dripping tap wastes water and can damage your sink or worktop. Many leaks are simple to fix, but not all.
When you can try it yourself
- The drip is from the spout, which is often a worn washer or cartridge
- You know where the isolation valve is and can turn the water off
- The tap is a standard type and parts are easy to find
When to call a professional
- The leak is from the base of the tap or from pipework underneath
- You cannot isolate the water supply
- The tap is old, corroded or a mixer that will not come apart
- There is any sign of water damage
Always turn the water off first. If in doubt, our plumbing service can sort it quickly.
